PEMBERTON Junior Football Club cut the ribbon the newly refurbed Co-Operative store on Norley Hall Avenue.

To celebrate the £230,000 investment, players from the club joined store manager Lynn Meadow to perform a ribbon cutting ceremony. The youngsters received a donation of £200 towards club funds.

Lynn said: “The Co-operative is a community retailer and we are committed to playing a real role in local life.

“It is fantastic that players from our local junior football club could join us to share in our special day.

“Our store provides an ideal location for people to shop locally. It is important to all the members of staff here that we meet people’s needs and we are all looking forward to welcoming our customers.”

The new-look store has a bright, spacious shopper-friendly layout and offers an extensive ranges of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as higher welfare meat and fish.
