A WIGAN bank manager is facing jail after admitting he swindled his employers out of more than £400,000.
Paul Buck appeared before a Preston Crown Court judge to plead guilty to three charges of obtaining property by deception and 11 counts of dishonestly making false representations.
The 35-year-old, from Langham Road, Standish, is accused of committing the acts of fraud against the Santander Bank of whose Preston Fishergate branch he was manager until last year. Buck was arrested on December 9 and the crimes were committed over a five-year period between 2006 and 2011.
He had originally been charged with with 14 offences of theft and 10 of false accounting but these were dropped at Preston Magistrates’ Court and replaced with fresh charges.
He was remanded on bail to appear at the court on Friday, June 29 when he will be sentenced.
The court has also timetabled a hearing in September when attempts will be made to recover as much of the dishonestly-obtained money as possible under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
