A MOTORCYCLIST miraculously escaped serious injury after he skidded underneath a car during a breath-taking collision.

A Volkswagen and Yahama collided at the junction of Wigan Road and Bolton Road, in Fingerpost, Aspull, at 3.20pm on Sunday.

The biker slid underneath the car but was fully conscious.

An air ambulance arrived on scene shortly afterwards, but after an assessment by the doctor, the motorcyclist was deemed fit and did not need hospital treatment.

Police also attended but no arrests were made.
