Boy, 11, in road accident

A YOUNG pedestrian was injured after being involved in a collision with a car outside a Wigan secondary school.

The incident happened when an 11-year-old boy collided with the vehicle near Shevington High School, on Shevington Lane, at around 3.20pm yesterday.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police and an ambulance were called, and paramedics treated the boy at the scene.

Reports suggested the boy, who was conscious and breathing when the emergency services arrived, was taken to Wigan Infirmary and his injuries were not life-threatening.
