A schoolboy was knocked down on his way home from school.

An eyewitness told the Evening Post that the youngster, dressed in a Shevington high uniform, collided with a white Mercedes on Church Lane in Shevington, close to St Bernadette’s primary school.

Fortunately the boy appeared to be ok and got straight up afterwards but an ambulance was called.

The passer-by said: “It looked like he went into the road between two cars. He got straight back up so I think he was ok but it did take him up in the air.

“The driver looked shaken up but it didn’t appear to me like he could have done anything.”
