Judge Rob helps pick winners

A Wigan tourism expert was one of the key judges in the annual Anglesey Tourism Awards.

Rob Martell, tourism marketing manager for the North West Regional Development Agency, attended the award ceremony at the island's Trearddur Bay Hotel and also presented an award for the Best Bed and Breakfast Guesthouse of the Year to Manchester couple Peter and Susannah Woods.

The awards showcase the best tourism businesses on Anglesey, which attracts over one million visitors a year, and featured 11 categories from bed and breakfasts, to Use of Welsh in Tourism Business, and from cafes and motor racing circuits to caravan sites and holiday cottages.

Rob, who lives in Ashton and is based at the agency's Warrington HQ, said: "The standard of entries was extremely high and I was delighted to be there.

"These awards are going from strength to strength and really show what Anglesey has to offer visitors. It's a great part of the world."
