BUSINESSES in Wigan are being asked to buy circus tickets to be distributed to local disabled and underprivileged children.

Circus Starr, a not-for-profit company, celebrates its silver jubilee this year and is coming to Wigan to put on two performances with proceeds from tickets going to Derian House Children’s Hospice.

Over the last 10 years Circus Starr has raised more than £800,000 for UK charities.

The jubilee tour will see the company provide another 35,000 free tickets for disadvantaged children in England and Wales as it tours towns and cities including Wigan.

Director Neville Wilson said: “It is amazing how much a day out at the circus benefits the children that see it.”

Circus Starr is coming to Wigan on September 15 at Alexandra Park, Victoria Street, Pemberton.
