David’s skills to boost college

A PRESTIGIOUS North West business centre has appointed a new electrical engineer from Wigan.

David Kay is Leyland-based Runshaw College’s new mechanical instructor to support the growth of its engineering department.

He joins the centre from British Waterways where he worked as a mechanical supervisor and brings with him more than 20 years’ experience from the mechanical industry, having started his career as an apprentice miner in underground coal mines.

Located within the Runshaw College campus, the centre launched engineering training last year and Mr Kay will be responsible for ensuring the organisation continues to meet requirements of current and future apprentices and businesses.

Mr Kay said: “This is an exciting opportunity for me and I will relish the challenge of ensuring Runshaw continues to deliver exceptional training whilst supporting the growth and success of the department.”

Adrian Roscoe from Runshaw Business Centre said: “With the addition of David’s skills and experience to the engineering team, I am confident that we will continue to deliver the industry-relevant training and qualifications that employers need.”
