IT is one of the biggest business networking events of its kind in the North West.
And applications are now being accepted for this year’s Wigan Expo.
October 10 may sound a long way off but, judging by the annual event’s past popularity, there will be a real scramble for stands at the prestigious event. The Expo is organised by Wigan Council and allows local businesses, and beyond, to showcase all that they have to offer.
The entire west stand of the DW Stadium will be used to host the event. There will be three exhibition lounges, with a 130 exhibition stands up for grabs.
Stands for the 2014 Expo are available for booking online on a first come first serve basis, at a cost of £325.
The stands are 2.4m by 1m booths fixed with sides and rear panels, all the stands include power, Wi-Fi internet access and a 90cm round table with two chairs.
Exhibitors can also take out full or half page adverts in the event guide distributed to every visitor on the day.
Coun David Molyneux, deputy leader of Wigan Council and the authority’s cabinet member for the economy, said: “We believe that the Business Expo is a way for us to show support to our local businesses and help our economy to grow and prosper.
“We want to show how dedicated we are to The Deal we have made with our residents and the Business Expo is a perfect opportunity for us to do this.
“I want to encourage anyone who is thinking about signing on to the event to do so as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Last year 50 per cent of the exhibition stands were taken by businesses in only three weeks and 60 per cent were taken three months in advance of the event. I think this shows the demand for the Business Expo amongst the residents of Wigan is higher than ever.”
Last year’s Expo was the most successful ever with over 120 businesses exhibiting and almost 1,300 visitors making it one of the largest business to business events in the North West.
This year’s event promises to be even bigger and will consist of:
A dedicated meet the experts area organised by the Business Growth Hub;
Meet the buyer workshops;
An informative seminar programme running throughout the day;
A networking lounge sponsored by Greater
Manchester Chamber of Commerce;
An opportunity to view a range of BMW cars provided by Halliwell Jones BMW and Citroen commercial vehicles provided by BCC Citroen Wigan.
