DOZENS of new jobs are being created by the expansion of a Wigan company.
Sheffield-based Contact Centre 33 opened a base in Wigan last October and already employs 22 staff at its Standishgate centre, providing contact centre services for a leading energy company.
But the firm is increasing the workforce to 60 after existing staff delivered success for the company. Director Paul Fletcher said: “We have been very successful so far in Wigan and we are looking to expand as a result. This is an important milestone for the company. In Wigan there seems to be a lot of people who want to work and there is so much potential here. Attendance and performance in the team is great and the quality of customer service is high so we are committed to growing the team here.”
To mark the announcement Wigan Council’s deputy leader Coun David Molyneux visited the offices to meet the CC33 team. The authority recently launched Wigan Works: a major campaign promoting the borough as a destination for business investment, economic growth, job creation, skills development and convenient infrastructure.
He said: “It’s testament to the performance of the current workforce that Contact Centre 33 wants to expand its operation in Wigan. I hope this example shows other companies that if they want a committed and dedicated workforce who gets results then Wigan borough is the place to be.”
