A WIGAN-based marketing and events company has been awarded the gold standard of service for the PR industry.
Freedman Brown Communications, which has its HQ at the Pier-side Wigan Investment Centre, has secured the internationally-recognised Communications Management Standard (CMS).
This is the industry’s quality certification system for public relations firms. The Standard is an assurance to clients that Freedman Brown adheres to strict quality standards in management, communication and service delivery.
The CMS is an independently-audited set of eight tests which a consultancy must pass as a member of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).
It combines elements of ISO 9000 and Investors in People with criteria specific to the public relations industry.
Francis Ingham, chief executive PRCA said: “The Communications Management Standard was developed specifically to ensure that PRCA members have the systems and structures in place to meet and exceed clients’ expectations.”
Freedman Brown Communications is one of over 200 PRCA members based throughout the UK and moved to Wigan four years ago after 10 years based in Preston.
It is headed by founder directors Darryl Freedman and Louise Holcroft and represents many consumer and business clients – the biggest of which is Tesco Stores Ltd.
“It is great news to have reached the accredited status”, said Mr Freedman. “It is very real testimony to the continued hard work, flair and creativity of all of our team here in Wigan.”
Ms Holcroft added: “Being recognised nationally enables us to fly the flag for Wigan and North West business which, as a Wiganer I can say we are very proud to do.
“We are confident about the future because we continue to offer real value and PR is an extremely cost-effective way of maintaining a successful business profile.”
