WIGAN borough firms now have just one week left to enter this year’s Wigan Business Awards.
The deadline for entries is 5pm on Monday September 2, and there are 10 categories in total that businesses can nominate themselves for, including: Business of the Year, Exporter of the Year and the Employer Supporting Apprentices Award.
Run by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by NatWest, the awards celebrate the successes of businesses throughout the borough. The competition culminates in a gala ceremony which will be held at the DW Stadium on Friday November 15.
Emma Antrobus, Wigan policy manager at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: “We’ve already had some very impressive entries so far, but there is still time for businesses of all shapes, sizes and sectors to put themselves forward. As usual we have a range of different categories, including a revamped We’re Backing Wigan Award, which is open to charities as well as other businesses.
“Those exceptional businesses who are shortlisted for each category, benefit hugely from the publicity and kudos associated with the awards, so we would urge as many companies as possible to put themselves forward.
“Last year’s gala dinner was a huge success, with businesses celebrating well into the night. It’s thanks to our sponsors and supporters that we are able to make each year as successful as it is and we’re hoping that this year will be no exception!”
Members and non-members of the Chamber are welcome to put themselves forward for the awards and there is no limit on how many awards each company can nominate themselves for.
