LOCAL companies in Wigan are using social networks to promote themselves.
A poll found 35 per cent of UK firms are signed up to some form of social media and Twitter was most popular in the North West.
Paul Bannister, of Haywards Accountants, said: “We have dipped our toe in the water with Twitter. I think it could become as important as emails.”
The Grand Arcade has Twitter and Facebook. Manager John Sanson said: “Social networking gives us another way to communicate with shoppers.”
