A TOUCH of foreign glamour has opened in Wigan.

Latvian businessman Aigars Kaulins has launched his shop – A.S.K – in the Galleries shopping centre, selling Italian bodycare products, such as bath foams, fragrances, body milks and domestic cleaning products.

The 31-year-old moved to Platt Bridge two years ago and decided to set up his own store, whilst working part time at Milliken factory. He said: “The idea about importing cosmetic products from Italy started with two things what I didn’t find in UK – MIL MIL face milk and make-up remover.

“I knew the company who manufactured those and we started a small internet shop and started selling this brand on eBay. We found the UK had interest in these products and we tried to get in touch with other brand manufacturers in Italy to build direct relationships with them.

“One of the companies gave us distribution rights in UK and we are starting with brands like Felce Azzurra and, Cleo, Cleo Multimilk.

“Business grew and I chose to set up in Wigan because it is the centre of North West of England and it is a lovely place to live.

“We hope to represent more body care and cosmetic product brands from Italy, as Italian perfumes and make-up are well know in the industry.”
