Call of new challenge ...
A flourishing Wigan business has opened its third centre in the town.
Lowri Beck already has successful meter reading and meter technology branches, now it is branching out into call centres.
Local sporting heroes Sean O'Loughlin from Wigan Warriors and Paul Scharner from Wigan Athletic were the VIP guests to open Lowri Beck Business Solutions at Westward House in King Street West.
The company has been based there before but the centre, which is currently home to around 20 staff – mainly operators – has undergone a major revamp.
It now complements Lowri Beck Services which specialises in meter reading and data capture for the utilities industry and Lowri Beck Systems which develops meter technology.
Its other bases are at Rodney House, King Street, and in Swan Meadow Road near Wigan Pier.
The company, first based in Wigan 12 years ago, now has 100 staff in the town 400 nationally.
With an annual turnover now in excess of 10m, Lowri Beck is now focusing its attention on helping other businesses through business process outsourcing support, the Lowri Beck call centre services and providing field management solutions.
Its solutions centre aims to provide customised business and customer service solutions for local and national small and medium-sized enterprises.
Business analyst for Lowri Beck, Richard Brameld, said: "These are exciting times for the company and Lowri Beck Solutions is very much in its infancy.
"We will be heading to the local exhibitions to drum up business but are already making telemarketing calls on behalf of a client."
