THE pictures of Ginger the cat, who was shot seven times with an air rifle, are truly shocking images.

Few people will be able to comprehend how an individual could aim a weapon at someone’s pet and pull the trigger multiple times.

Poor Ginger was left for dead, bleeding from multiple puncture wounds, but was able to claw his way back to the safety of his owner’s garden.

Tribute must be paid to Caroline Purnell, the vet who was able to bring the seven-month-old moggy back from the brink of death.

Let’s hope he continues to recover.
