COMMENT - Stay loyal
THE verdict of shoppers and a Wigan retailer on what the town centre has to offer is an admittedly downbeat one.
They talk of better choice elsewhere, and worries are voiced about further shop closures if rates go up by a large amount.
But the very fact that the shoppers being quizzed were all in the town centre at the time at least shows that they are staying loyal, despite reservations.
Wigan remains in the top 100 British retail destinations, and many places are struggling at present. So please still support the town, and so avoid becoming part of its problems.
