Kay fights back
Newsreader Kay Burley has dismissed claims that she behaved unprofessionally in an interview with radio host James O'Brien.
The Wigan broadcaster challenged the radio host during her Afternoon Live programme following his criticism of Frank Lampard's parenting, calling him weak for allowing his children and former partner to stay in a flat while he lived in a mansion.
But Kay, who is reported to be good friends with the footballer as her ex-husband Steve Kutner, with whom she has a child, is his agent and apparently tackled Mr O'Brien about his insults.
But responding to suggestions that she appeared biased, she said: "I pride myself on impartial journalism. My interview represented both points of view."
Meanwhile Kay proves she knows her football as she talked to Sky Sports ahead of Ladies Day last week. The Arsenal supporter revealed her earliest footballing memory was going to Wembley while heavily pregnant.
