Northern Lights will this week see a special performance on the main stage by Club Nirvana favourites Our Fold.
The Westhoughton-based outfit will be playing at the Clarence Yard venue with new guitarist Aziz Ibrahim, who is best known for replacing John Squire in The Stone Roses.
Aziz was the guitarist for the last ever Stone Roses performance at the 1996 Reading Festival, has worked with Ian Brown during his solo career and has recorded alongside Paul Weller.
The Longsight born guitarist said: "I watched Our Fold play at the Versus Cancer gig at The Ritz in Manchester last May and liked their attitude.
"I got talking to their manager afterwards and the idea came up of me working with the band.
"It was all just a matter of great timing.
"Playing and rehearsing with them has given me the chance to become a bit of a rock 'n' roller again, so to speak, as lately I've only been playing acoustic guitars with my own band.
"I like their enthusiasm and talent, they're a great bunch of lads."
Ryan Ambler, drummer for Our Fold, is delighted to be working alongside such an accomplished musician.
The 21-year-old said: "Working with Aziz has been absolutely brilliant; our songs have a lot more depth to them now.
"His guitar parts definitely compliment our material.
"We never thought that someone like Aziz would want to join our band."
Aziz said: "I've always invested anything that I've made out of music straight back into music.
"I've got music in my blood and I'm enjoying giving a band like Our
Fold my experience and all of my enthusiasm."
Support this Friday night at Club Nirvana will come from local band The Empire.
Doors open at 10pm. Entry is just 3 and the Northern Lights club night follows the gig.
