He’s Fijian, but he qualifies for the Kangaroos on the basis that he has lived in Australia for three years.

I’m a bit of a traditionalist, I think you should play for the country you were born. Or, if your parents are from another country, then I can understand why you would want to represent that nation.

But I don’t think living in a country for three years should qualify a player to represent that country. It just doesn’t seem right.

I know other countries - and a lot of other sports - use the residency rule, but I think rugby league needs to address the issue. With nearly all the professional clubs in Australia and England, then it risks weakening the smaller, developing nations if we go down that route.

We turn our focus to the Challenge Cup this weekend, and Sunday’s trip to Dewsbury.

I’ve played in these kinds of games and they really are tough places to go.

They are not under a bit of pressure - all the pressure is on us - and they will go into it desperate to impress. It’s only natural.

They’ll be fired up and aggressive and we need to make sure we match it.

My rib injury has eased a bit. I’ve stated doing some upper-body weights and running in training, so fingers crossed I’ll be back soon.
