THIS is the mum who was murdered in her home.
Pornpilai Nehls, 28, pictured, was discovered dead by police in Maple Crescent, Leigh, shortly after 7am on Tuesday when relatives became concerned that she was not answering the phone.
Officers have now confirmed that her husband, Rickie Nehls La-touche, 30, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, along with his 26-year-old brother, Stevie, has now been charged with murder.
Detectives were given an extra 12 hours to continue questioning Rickie La-touche. His brother was released without charge.
It is thought the couple met around 10 years ago in Thailand while La-touche was on holiday and they married soon after and returned to Britain together.
It is believed they moved to Maple Crescent more than a year ago and had a young daughter together, who is thought to be three years old.
Neighbours, who spoke of their shock at the incident, said they did not know the couple very well, but would often see Mrs Nehls walking in the crescent with her daughter.
A post mortem examination has concluded that the cause of death Mrs Nehls’ death was asphyxiation.
