A shoplifter is behind bars after snubbing a court’s second chance by stealing meat from a supermarket again.

Anthony Connor, 33, of Viscount Road, Marsh Green, appeared before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to admit to snatching £33 worth of food from a Lidl store on January 11.

The hearing was told that only two days earlier he had been given a conditional discharge by Salford justices for taking meat from a Co-op in Manchester.
