Wigan woman hit with big bill for failing to give breath specimen

A suspected drink-driver has been hit with a 20-month road ban and £745 court bill after failing to provide a breath test.

Elisha Speakman, 29, of Knowles Place, Scholes, appeared before Wigan justices to admit the breach of the Road Traffic Act. Of the money to pay, £600 is a fine, the rest court costs and victim services surcharge. The ban can be shortened by attending a drink-drivers course.
