TRIBUTES have been paid to a Wigan man who has died in a motorway pile-up in Hertfordshire.
Adrian Sparrow, 67, who is believed to be from Billinge, suffered fatal injuries when his Ford Transit van collided with a Peugeot and four HGVs on the clockwise carriageway on the M25 at around 7am last Friday.
He was travelling between junctions 21a and 22 in St Albans and died at the scene.
Mr Sparrow had been a self-employed haulier for 32 years and his family have spoke of their devastation at the loss of their husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
They described him as ‘much loved’ and said he would never be forgotten.
His family released a statement through Hertfordshire police.
It read: “Family and friends are devastated at the loss of Adrian Sparrow. Adrian, known as ‘Aidy’, was a self-employed haulier of 32 years.
“Adrian was much-loved, a loving husband and will never be forgotten.”
