A LEADING charity will not need to milk its supporters too much after a generous donation by a Wigan dairy.

Kay’s Dairy, based in Pemberton, presented Wigan and Leigh Hospice with a cheque for £3,000 gathered through a door-to-door envelope collection.

The dairy collected the money from its customers and local residents to help the Hindley-based charity, which holds the house-to-house collection each year, provide specialist palliative care.

Hospice fund-raiser Maxine Armstrong said: “Once again we would like to say a very big thank you to Kay’s Dairy for their ongoing support. The collection in total raised £10,000 for hospice funds and we would like to thank everyone who supported us in any way on this fund-raising activity.”
