DANCERS young and old from across Wigan came together for a spectacular multi-media show to mark the end of a year-long community project.
Year eight and nine pupils at Fred Longworth High School in Tyldesley teamed up with members of the Wigan Over-50s Forum, community groups from Scholes and Shakerley and a youth group from Hindley for a dance project called ‘Put a Plug In It’ exploring the themes of communication and technology.
The show, created by Ludus Dance, looked at how communication has changed over the years through a combination of drama, dance and short film pieces created in partnership with Manchester filmmaker Michael Wray.
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s Arts Development Officer, Vicky Fletcher said: “The feedback has been excellent. This project really has focused on the health and well-being agenda on both the young and old both physically and mentally.
“It has been exceptionally well received by all involved.”
