TWO bodies have been found at an address in Wigan.
Police were called to a house on Woodlands Park Close near to Wigan Rugby Union Club at around 9am today (Thursday).
Officers attended and discovered the body of a man in his 40s. Following a search of the house, the body of a woman in her 40s was found.
Formal ID and a post mortem are due to take place at a later stage.
Detective Inspector Andy Naismith said: “We are in the very early stages of our enquiries and are piecing together the circumstances that led to two people losing their lives.
“Obviously the community will be shocked as to what has happened but we can say we do not believe anyone else was involved and are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident. However, a police presence will remain in the area to offer reassurance and answer any concerns residents may have.”
Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
