A PRIME location with plenty of passing trade gives businesses on Ormskirk Road and Chapel Street in Pemberton a helping hand.
And our three featured establishments this week have all come up with unique ways to market their products and services.
The Be Anyone fancy dress shop on Chapel Street is already gearing up for Halloween with a pair of ghoulish masks in the window.
But owner Gary Hilton also has a full range of more light-hearted costumes and was more than happy to demonstrate their Woody from Toy Story outfit.
Gary said: “We have been in demand during the summer with hen and stag do costumes, Village People outfits have been snapped up, especially for the stags.
“Halloween is one of our big times of the year so we’re looking forward to that now. We have also set ourselves up online so people can order their costumes and have them delivered. It’s a worldwide operation, we’ve had orders from Denmark for Bananas in Pyjamas outfits.
“We also have a party planning service available. We say that whatever party or function you can think of, we’ll make it happen.”
Next door, The Crop Shop has a new stylist on their books in David France.
Owner Jeanette Norman said: “The business and been up and running for 17 years so we have plenty of regular customers but with David now working here we’re hoping to attract many more.
“We also offer beauty treatments and we have a tanning salon.
“The treatments are popular with both men and women, we have men who come in to get their eyebrows waxed.
“Styles in at the moment for girls are curly cuts and for men it’s all about comb over styles.”
Across the street, Wig, Wam Glam adds a bit of glitter to Ormskirk Road.
Owner Emma Mason-Lucas said: “It’s coming up to three years now that we moved here from Scot Lane.
“We do wigs, hair extensions and also have bags and dresses.
“We fit the hair extensions as well for you. We’re busy leading up to the weekend when people are planning their outfits.
“Our lip transfers are popular for people going to parties, there’s a large variety of designs.”
