PARENTS and staff have raised more than £8,000 for a school.

Members of the Parents, Staff and Friends Association (PSFA) have spent the last 12 months organising various events in aid of Orrell Holgate Primary School. Their efforts raised £8,400, to be spent on school activities.

Fund-raiser Nicola Unsworth said: “We have organised various events, such as discos, Christmas fairs, car boot sales and bag packing at supermarkets. We are delighted to raise so much.”

Headteacher Michael Wilson said: “We are enormously grateful to all the people who have worked hard over the last 12 months. The money will be spent on a variety of activities and products that the children will use to enhance their learning. For example, we will subscribe all our junior children to Mathletics, an online tool they can use at school and home.”
