WINSTANLEY College has been given the stamp of approval for the pastoral guidance and careers services it offers to students.

It has received the praise in the form of a highly regarded Matrix Standard award, presented following two days of independent internal assessments carried out with personal tutors, the college careers adviser, staff from the welfare team and students.

The Matrix assessor commented on the passion and enthusiasm Winstanley College staff demonstrated and how much value they added to the lives of the students above and beyond the results they achieve.

Assistant principal Debbie Owen said: “The advice and guidance we give our students is at the heart of everything we do here at Winstanley College and this was something that was picked up by the assessor. From impartial careers advice to the support and care of the dedicated personal tutors and welfare staff, we care about every aspect of our students’ lives with us and now we have been nationally accredited for it too!”

Winstanley’s A-level results rank it among the country’s top five sixth form colleges.
