JURASSIC Park came to Wigan as gob-smacked schoolchildren were visited by a “baby” dinosaur.
As part of a class focus on pre-historic times, youngsters at Highfield St Matthew’s Primary met Sophie, the mini-tyrannosaurus rex.
She was part of the Walking With Dinosaurs exhibition which recently wowed audiences at the Liverpool Echo Arena but now calls in at schools, along with her handlers, to help out with interactive history lessons.
Associate headteacher Julie Hargreaves said: “It was an absolutely wonderful for the children to experience.
“When Sophie walked into the school hall the children were entranced and it was so exciting. Her visit has had such an impact. They all fell in love with her.”
