A WIGAN school is celebrating after landing a very handy government grant.
Marus Bridge Primary landed a £1,000 Pupil Premium Award to support disadvantaged youngsters in raising attainment levels.
Headteacher Michael Gaskill, pictured with head boy Adam and head girl Caitlyn, said: “We couldn’t be more pleased to win the award as it means we can further help those children who desperately need it. Hopefully we aim to spend the money on extra tuition and also more school activities.
“I believe we were chosen for this award due to our children excelling in numerous educational activities and I’m sure this will only improve throughout the next year.”
