A SECONDARY school in Leigh has been given a good rating by inspection body Ofsted, while some aspects of the school were judged outstanding.
Bedford High School was judged to have good achievement, quality of teaching, standards of behaviour from pupils, safety and leadership of management.
Inspectors who visited the Manchester Road school said pupils made good progress in subjects including English and maths, while some of the teaching was given the highest-possible mark.
The report also found pupils were polite, well-mannered and courteous, and had opportunities to make significant contributions to the school community.
Bedford is one of only 24 schools in the country to receive a good rating since a more rigorous grading system was introduced last year.
