A MAN required help from almost a dozen emergency responders after he became seriously ill at a Wigan home.

At around 4pm on Monday, an ambulance, a team of advanced paramedics, two rapid response vehicles and an the North West Air Ambulance attended an address on Morden Avenue, Ashton.

Medical experts rang ahead to Wigan Infirmary to warn them of the serious condition of the man, who is believed to be in his 40s.

A land ambulance transported the patient to hospital.
