A WIGAN pub has been flattened as part of an ambitious new plan to ease traffic congestion in a busy bottleneck.

Bulldozers moved in on the former Bull’s Head, in Warrington Road, Marus Bridge, last week.

The decision to knock down the former ale house is part of a joint plan with Wigan Council and
developers Wainhomes.

Wainhomes aims to use the land east of Warrington Road to create a link road and roundabout, which will take traffic off the
A49.
