Power cut hits hundreds of homes and businesses
Nearly 2,000 properties in Wigan were hit by a power cut today.
An Electricity North West spokesman said 1,942 customers in the WN1 area lost their power supply shortly before 1.10pm.
The problem was caused by a cable fault.
Engineers carried out repairs and the electricity supply was restored at 3.25pm.
