THE family of the man who died following a collision on the East Lancs Road have paid tribute to a much-loved family man.
Paul Garratt, 75, was a passenger in a red Citroen Picasso that collided with a lorry on the westbound side of the A580, between Atherleigh Way and Lane Head, at 4pm on Wednesday.
Paul’s family, said: “Paul was a much-loved family man who will be missed by his wife, Ann, son Edward and daughter in law Wendy and his three grandchildren and all his family and friends.”
The driver of the Picasso, a 58-year-old man, and the driver of the HGV, a 46-year-old man, were both arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the collision.
The driver of the Picasso has been released on police bail until later this month and the driver of the HGV remains in police custody for questioning.
