WIGAN Athletic’s historic victory over Manchester United last Wednesday will be remembered by Latics fans for a very long time.
Boss Roberto Martinez was quick to point out shortly after full time just how integral those supporters were in the victory though.
Before the game, hundreds of fans gathered outside the DW Stadium to cheer their heroes on ahead of the crucial game.
Although kick-off wasn’t until 7.45pm, around 500 fans arrived at the players’ car park in the South East corner two hours earlier for a pre-arranged meet and greet.
It followed similar events ahead of the West Brom and Stoke City fixtures and since they have started doing it, the squad are unbeaten with two wins and a draw.
All set for the same again for Newcastle?
