Four charged in drugs probe

FOUR people have been charged following an investigation into the supply of drugs in Wigan.

Dale Cowley, 20, of Albert Schweitzer Avenue, Bootle, is charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs (heroin, cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine), threats to kill, three counts of handling stolen goods and possession of a firearm.

He will next appear before Wigan Magistrates’ Court on March 9.

Liam Mullin, 19, of Inner Forum, Bootle, is charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs (cocaine, amphetamine, cannabis) and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Dwayne Splatt, 35, of Agnew Road, Gorton, is charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs (cocaine, cannabis, amphetamine), handling stolen goods, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

Anita Byrne, 38, of Adams Drive, Worsley Mesnes, is charged with possession of Class A drugs and allowing her premises to be used to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

This trio will appear before Wigan Magistrates’ Court on February 24.

It follows an investigation by police in Wigan into the supply of Class A and B drugs.

On September 19, 2014, officers from the Wigan Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant at a house on Adams Drive, Worsley Mesnes.

Entry was forced and officers seized more than £6,000 of heroin, cocaine, cannabis and amphetamine along with two stolen bicycles, a stolen Mercedes Vito van and a Taser disguised as a mobile phone.
