Hannah takes off for charity
A Wigan beauty is appearing in a budget airline's sexy new calender to raise money for disabled children.
Hannah Darbyshire, is one of the stars of Ryanair's 2010 calendar shoot which hopes to raise more than 100,000 for the UK charity KIDS.
The 22-year-old air stewardess, who attended Wigan youth theatre group Willpower as a youngster, appears as Miss January.
The wannabe model has previously had auditioned for film and television roles including two auditions for children's television show Grange Hill.
Hannah has also performed on stage in front of audiences of more than 1,000 people at shows across the North West.
Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara said: "This year's calendar is the hottest yet and we hope to raise more than 100,000 to help KIDS assist even more disabled children and their families in the UK.
"Every year it sells like hot cakes - we want to help KIDS and bring a smile to someone's face all year long."
But the airline's calendar has caused controversy with Labour MEP Mary Honeyball accusing the airline of "forcing" cabin crew to take part in the calendar.
But Ryanair says more than 800 of the airline's 4,000 cabin crew volunteered for this year's event.
Ryanair's CEO Michael O'Leary has already bought the first 100 copies of the 2010 calendar.
Organisers hope the calendar, which was shot at Ryanair's Alicante base in September, will raise 100,000 through the sale of 11,000 calendars onboard Ryanair flights and from www.ryanair.com.
KIDS was founded in 1970, and offers direct and practical support to more than 7,000 disabled children and young people.
It is the only UK charity working solely with disabled children, young people and their families irrespective of their impairment, disability or circumstance.
