THE case of a Wigan woman who was due to be sentenced for harassment has been delayed.

Paula Goldstein had been due to face sentence yesterday for persistently verbally abusing her neighbour Kathleen Fairhurst during a six-week period between April 1 and May 28 this year.

But the 42-year-old, of Broom Road, Worsley Hall, failed to attend Wigan Magistrates’ Court following a period of ill health.

The court was told that Goldstein had undergone surgery at hospital and had provided a sick note to cover her absence.

Her case was adjourned until August 1 and her conditional bail extended.
