STAFF were attacked with metal bars in an early hours raid on a local pub.
The victims were locking The Tanner in Skelmersdale at 4.10am on Monday when three men burst in and demanded cash under threat of violence.
Two of the gang dragged an employee to the safe demanding money while the third remained with the two hostages. They then fled with cash thought to total around £3,500.
All three staff were assaulted during the raid and needed hospital treatment. Police say they were lucky only to have suffered only minor injuries but had also been left extremely shaken.
The raiders were white men, wearing tracksuits, with the hoods up and all had strong Liverpool accents.
Det Insp John Entwisle said: “The members of staff who were in the pub at the time of the robbery have been left extremely shaken by what’s happened, but thankfully nobody was seriously hurt.
“I would appeal to anybody who may have seen the three men or indeed anyone at all acting suspiciously either prior to the robbery or in the area after the robbery to come forward and contact police.”
