Fight this monstrous Bill to cross human embryos

Many constituents may be curious to know what their MPs are concerning themselves with at this time of year.

I wonder how many are aware that there is shortly to be presented to Parliament a Bill for ratification, called the Human Fertilisation and Embryology (HFE) Bill.

This innocuous-sounding title hides the true intent of this pernicious piece of legislation which is in reality aimed at the further destruction by abortion of babies.

Its sponsors are actually seeking Parliamentary approval to carry out further scientific experimentation on human embryos by inserting animal DNA into them. They cannot tell us whether this end product would result in a human or animal form, or as may be suspected, be incapable of supporting life at all.

Late last year the embryo research regulators said some mixed human-animal embryos could be created under the existing law, but this new HFE Bill will extend this to allow the creation of more bizarre human-animal embryos, which are still essentially human.

What they hope to create will be mercilessly mutilated in the name of science, supposedly to make life better, but this has never been proved and any claims for these techniques are pure speculation.

The calculated conservative loss of babies due to abortion over the past 40 years, when Parliament first legitimised this practice in the UK, now stands at approximately 6.75 million. We are now hearing that many family GPs are realising that their continuing involvement in this practice is totally against their sworn career objective which is to support and extend life rather than extinguish it.

It certainly behoves any concerned constituent to write to their MP expressing their horror at this HFE proposed Bill and ensure that it is rejected, preferably in favour of a further reduction in the time when a developing foetus can be legitimately be aborted.

Sunday Collections under threat, too

While readers will be fighting to save their post offices I would just like to make them aware of another Royal Mail campaign.

If readers object to the recent decision to stop sunday collections from mail boxes across the UK, they can now view and sign a petition on the Prime Minister's web site at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/

postcollections

Remember, mail collections and post offices are connected – cut one and you can damage the other.

Singing the praises of Billy, 25 years on

January 28 sees the 25th anniversary of the passing of Billy Fury at the age of 42.

The Sound Of Fury, the official Billy Fury fan club, is dedicated to keeping alive his music.

Several events are planned and the fan club meets at Billy's grave in Mill Hill, North London, three times a year. Our magazine is also produced three times a year. His career was most impressive with 29 hit singles, six hit albums, three best-selling EPs and membership of the Songwriters Guild.

Billy's love of animals and birds is well chronicled and in the 1970s he withdrew to his farm in Brecon Beacons to pursue these interests along with breeding of horses and sheep. He continued to sing on the cabaret scene to fund these

projects.

In1983 he finally lost his battle with heart illness and is still sadly missed.

Any reader who is interested in any of our activities can contact The Sound Of Fury, PO Box 1117, Hutton, Preston, PR2 0DT.
