Local man charged with drug supply

A WIGAN man is among seven people charged in connection with the supplying drugs.

Colin McCaffrey, 30, of Bank Street, Golborne is accused of conspiracy to supply class A drugs. He was arrested on Wednesday during a series of raids which recovered 2kg of cocaine following on from the recovery of 14kg of cocaine on September 8.

Others facing the same charge are Dean McCaffrey, 29 of Brede Walk, Wythenshawe; Matthew Marshall, 29, of Dean Lane, Stockport; Callum Russell, 22, of Thrapston Avenue, Audenshaw; Joseph McCormick, 34, of Parkfield, Droylesden, and Jody Ashton, 32 of Thrapston Avenue, Audenshaw. Anthony Patton, 33, of Meadowbrook Close, Bury is charged with encouraging or assisting serious crime.

All seven were remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on October 29.
