A WIGAN couple are celebrating after winning £10,000 from a £2 bet.

Charlotte Johnson and her fiance, David Fish, scooped the monster payout after winning a footballer accumulator with bookmaker William Hill.

They selected nine home wins, with the odds of 100 per cent success being 5,035/1. Charlotte, 26, a part-time administrator, said the cash had come at the perfect time, as she had recently booked her wedding.

She said; “The money has come at an amazing time.

“We have an 18-month old little boy and have just booked our wedding for June 8 next year.

“It would have been a real struggle trying to save for a wedding as well as a deposit for our own house and now these worries have just disappeared.”

David, a lifelong Wigan supporter and joiner, said: “We are still trying to get our heads around winning such a life changing sum of money.”

Joe Crilly, William Hill spokesman, said: “It is always fantastic when people win a large sum from such a small stake, but even better when the winnings can help to change someone’s life in such a positive way.”

Charlotte and David’s bet (selections first): Oldham v MK Dons at 21/10; Peterborough v Leicester at 4/1; Blackpool v Millwall at 21/20; Bristol City v Nottingham Forest at 15/8; Southampton v Manchester City at 9/2; Stoke v Reading at 10/11; Swansea v QPR at 3/4; Chelsea v Wigan at 4/11; Bolton v Burnley at 6/5.
