BB Luke treats Bex to slap-up meal

Big Brother may have brought Wigan's Luke Marsden fame, but if it's brought him fortune he's yet to show it.

Eagle-eyed diners in neighbouring Chorley were starstruck when they spotted the 21-year-old, from Whelley, treating his favourite housemate Bex Shiner to a cheap-and-cheerful slap-up meal.

But his choice of eatery might leave Wiganers peeved – the former St John Rigby pupil has made only a brief appearance in his home town since his eviction from the Big Brother house.

The couple, whose weird romance entertained the nation this summer, were swamped with requests for pictures and autographs when they stopped at the Hartwood pub. Preston Road, Chorley.

Barmaid Lorna Newman, of Adlington, was working when the pair popped in on Sunday evening.

Lorna said: "They came in at about 6.45pm and they were really nice. They spent about 40 minutes here and they posed for pictures and signed autographs.

"They were very 'coupley', nothing over the top, but they had their arms around each other and they were holding hands.

"They ordered a meal and the women sat on the table next to them couldn't believe it was them.

"I got a picture of them on my mobile then rang my mum and brother as I have never served anyone famous before."

Romance between politics student Luke and nursery nurse Bex blossomed when they shared a tender kiss during their time on the television show.

They bagged a national newspaper deal for their spoof Las Vegas wedding pictures, with tee-total Luke, who used to work at British Bakeries in New Springs, happily being snapped in just his pants.

The Z-list lovebirds are expected in London for tonight's live final.
