Burns man is still stable

A WIGAN man who suffered horrific burns when was engulfed in flames is still in a stable condition.

The 44-year-old sustained injuries to his face, neck, torso and arms while at his home in Pinewood Crescent, Ince, on Sunday evening.

Paramedics treated the victim, who is reported to have mental health issues, and he was sent to the specialist burns unit at Wythenshawe Hospital.

He suffered 15 per cent burns but his injuries were not described as life threatening.

Police are now investigating the cause of the incident.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We got a call from the ambulance service at 9.45pm on Sunday.

“A 44-year-old man is in a stable condition.”
