Comic Jimmy to star in DVD

Funnyman Jimmy O'Neill is to star in his own comedy DVD.

Filming starts next week and cameras will follow Jimmy's alter ego, Ronnie Foster, across the town as he presents a guide to Wigan.

Among the stops of Ronnie Foster's comic guide to Wigan will be Wigan Pier, Haigh Hall, Central Park and the DW Stadium.

The DVD, which is currently untitled, will also feature a selection of Jimmy's YouTube videos, footage from his first ever stand-up show and the last ever Round The Pole comedy night, due to take place on Thursday April 29 at Stilettos, on King Street West.

Jimmy said: "The YouTube videos were going really well and a lot of people had been asking whether I would think about putting out a DVD. I thought I would take it to the next level.

"Getting the chance to make my own DVD gives me a vehicle to promote myself and showcase what I'm all about.

"Ronnie Foster's Guide to Wigan is going to be very tongue-in-cheek.

"As we are going to give Round The Pole a final send-off in April it only seemed right that we film that too."

The DVD is being filmed by Nyquest, which has recorded live concerts for TV for the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Oasis.

Jimmy said: "I'm really pleased to have a professional outfit such as Nyquest on board.

"I'm under no illusion that I can outsell the likes of Peter Kay. Even if it doesn't sell it wouldn't be the end of the world.

"I'll just sit at home on the sofa watching one after the other while eating Jaffa Cakes!"
