Family's caravan stolen days before holiday

Can you help this family get back their £20,000 caravan which was stolen from them just days before they were due to go on holiday.

This CCTV image shows the Rainger family's caravan being snatched from Lawns Farm in Orrell on Tuesday June 23.

The following Friday parents Dave and Cheryl Rainger were due to take their two children, Harry, eight, and Katie, six, to a holiday park in Lincolnshire for a weekend break.

Dave, from Croftlands in Orrell, said: "When Cheryl and I went to the farm on Thursday to find that the caravan wasn't there we were both devastated.

"We bought it brand new just a couple of years ago and go on holiday across the UK every summer.

"Cheryl and I were supposed to be going to Scarborough for our wedding anniversary in July, but I doubt that will happen now. It's our second home – it feels as if we have been burgled."

The family's caravan, a Silver Dethleffs Rally Nomad 640, was stolen from Lawns Farm at 9.40am.

The family have obtained CCTV footage of it being stolen in little over two minutes.

It is believed the caravan was taken by one man who drove a black

Mitsubishi L200 Pick-Up truck.

To add to the family's woe the caravan's insurance lapsed just two weeks before it was taken.

Dave said: "When we discovered the caravan had been stolen we immediately contacted the police, but so far we've heard very little back from them.

"We are just hoping that somebody will see it and contact us.

"It has some slight damage down the driver's side and there is a mark above the towbar."

The family is offering a 1,000 reward for the caravan's return to them.

The family can be contacted via Adnan Aljilani on 01942 506283.
