Fans raise thousands on Walk 4 Emma
HUNDREDS of Wigan Athletic fans braved freezing temperatures on Saturday to walk to the Reebok Stadium for the game against Bolton.
The reason behind the trek was to raise money for little Emma Hoolin, who is currently in America with her family receiving vital treatment for a rare form of cancer, Neuroblastoma.
Around 350 kind-hearted souls decided to ditch their cars to make the seven mile journey to Horwich on foot.
It wasn’t just Latics fans involved in the trek either with Bolton, Blackburn and Liverpool supporters also taking part as well as Latics legend Neill Rimmer and Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson.
Money is still pouring in for the walkers but it is expected the group have raised an amount well into its thousands. The group enjoyed complimentary pie and soup at Rose Leisure Club in New Springs and were given a warm welcome as they reached the Reebok with the team bus also saluting them as it passed them on the way to the ground.
